Welcoming my new Practicum Students
In the second semester of 2008, I took on my first student doing their Arts Practicum at UWA. Francesca was great. For the unit, she had to complete 100 hours in my business, so I worked with her to develop her project scope and she worked very well and produced some great results. The partnership worked so well that I've just taken on two students for their Summer Practicum. It's great to have this new energy and enthusiasm in the business - also they get to work on projects that I have no time for!
Achieving a Milestone
On the 28th of November, I presented my final assignment for my last unit in my Masters in Leadership and Management degree. After 12 units over 5 years, I have finally achieved this goal of mine. Over the years I have met some great people, challenged my leadership philosophies with lecturers and read many, many books! Some of my assignments have included developing a marketing plan for my business, finding a practical way to Think Global, Act Local, becoming a peer coach, developing a change management plan for an organisation, winning a team treasure hunt around Perth and many more. My final assignment, which I completed with project partner Virginia Miltrup, a senior executive at Synergy, was to work with a company to develop practical solutions to improve their engagement and retention strategy for Generation Y employees. A project topic that is right up my alley! I'm looking forward to my gradation ceremony in February and finding new learning adventures to expand my horizons even further! Any suggestions...
