The Secret of Successful People
The Secrets of Successful People
Do you ever wonder what people do to become really successful?? I do. Here are some tips of what I do to help my on my success journey:
Find a Mentor: When I first started my business at 18 years old. I found a mentor, someone who was doing what I wanted to do, and I took them out to coffee and picked their brains. Those meetings helped me develop the business that I have today – 6 years later!!
Read about success: Learn the habits to make you effective at what you do.
Be early: I hate being late. Arrive early to activities, meetings – whatever. The early bird gets the worm!
Take up opportunities: Don’t be afraid to try something new or stretch yourself. Eleanor Roosevelt said “Do one thing everyday that scares you”, in a good way that is!! Join a sport, participate in a debate, join a public speaking club, go hot air ballooning!
Lead a healthy life – eat good foods, exercise and laugh lots J
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote this about Success:
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.
Below is a video of Richard St. John, who has distiled a decade of research into a 3-minute slideshow on the real secrets of success. This video is taken from an awesome website called TED - www.ted.com which is a must see website, with loads of videos of people sharing ideas at the TED website.
